XRP’s January monthly distribution has been completed, with Ripple Labs returning 700 million XRP to a programmable escrow wallet. On-chain data show that 3.4185 billion XRP remain in the programmable escrow. Ripple Labs manages the escrow and typically unlocks 1 billion XRP at the start of each month to support liquidity and operating expenses. Next month, about 0.7 billion XRP is likely to be returned to escrow, continuing the monthly cadence.
Current network data show a circulating supply of 6.578 billion XRP, and more than 14.2 million XRP have been permanently burned. The escrow balance is subject to the monthly unlocks and re-locking of surplus tokens as part of ongoing liquidity management.
