Sei Urges USDC.n Holders to Swap Ahead of March EVM Upgrade

Sei, the cryptocurrency project on the Sei network, has advised holders of the deprecated USDC.n to swap their tokens for native USDC before the March upgrade. USDC.n was issued on the Noble blockchain and served as the Sei-specific USDC asset, but its utility has waned since Circle began issuing native USDC on Sei.

The Sei network is scheduled to adopt an EVM-based chain in March via the SIP-3 upgrade, with CosmWasm smart contracts and Cosmos-based assets slated for phase-out. Sei’s team warned that post-upgrade USDC.n could become unusable on Sei or lose value. Current data indicate roughly $1.4 million of USDC.n circulating on Sei.
