Animoca Brands has completed the acquisition of digital collectibles and gaming company SOMO, marking a strategic expansion of its global Web3 leadership position. The deal enhances its ability to deliver digital property rights through blockchain-enabled assets and cross-promotion across its growing portfolio of games and communities. SOMO’s ecosystem focuses on turning digital collectibles into playable, streamable, and tradable assets across titles such as SOMO Codex, SOMO Duel, and the flagship SOMO Battleground.

By integrating SOMO into its Web3 network, Animoca Brands aims to accelerate growth and unlock new synergies for both brands and their communities. Yat Siu, co-founder and executive chairman of Animoca Brands, described SOMO as building the cultural operating system for collectibles. He noted that bringing SOMO into the Animoca Brands ecosystem will connect it to a global network of games, communities, and partners.
