Blockchain Ireland has appointed Laura Morgan Walsh to its board of directors, bringing more than two decades of experience across global payments, regulated financial entities, and emerging technologies. Walsh has extensive experience designing, building, and scaling fintech and technology platforms, including approximately 13 years at PayPal, with additional tenures at Facebook and Monzo, before launching Morgan Walsh Consulting. Walsh is currently an independent non-executive director and chairs the audit committee at Kraken. Morgan Walsh holds a bachelor’s degree from University College Dublin and a master’s degree from Dublin City University.
Her appointment signals Blockchain Ireland’s emphasis on robust governance and strategic initiatives as the organization expands its influence in the Irish and global blockchain ecosystem. The industry will benefit from Walsh’s experience guiding governance, risk, and digital strategy, aligning with Blockchain Ireland’s mission to advance fintech and crypto innovation responsibly.
