Vitalik Buterin has announced plans to allocate 16,384 ETH, worth approximately $45 million, from his personal holdings to support open-source security and privacy technologies. The move underscores his personal commitment to funding technologies deemed essential to the blockchain’s long-term mission, with deployment planned over the coming years. He also intends to explore secure decentralized staking options to channel staking rewards toward open-source security and privacy tech.
The Ethereum Foundation will continue to develop Ethereum toward the same objective. Rymedi secured a $9 million Series A for a Web3 healthcare data platform, co-led by RW3 Ventures and White Star Capital, with participation from Blockchange Ventures and Blizzard Fund.
