Solana has launched the Graveyard Hackathon, an online global event running February 12–27, 2026, aimed at reviving on-chain categories that have fallen out of mainstream focus. The organizers describe it as a chance to rebuild where others have left off, noting that the best time to build is when everyone else has moved on. The hackathon offers a total prize pool of $75,000, including $30,000 for the top three projects and $45,000 spread across ten sponsor-backed tracks covering areas such as art, NFTs, on-chain social, gaming, DAOs, and more. Tracks include ExchangeArt for Art, Drip Haus for NFTs, Tapestry for Onchain Social, MagicBlock for Gaming, Realms for DAOs, and others addressing Ticketing, Loyalty, Metaverse, DeSci, and Migrations.

This event is fully online and open to builders worldwide, as part of Solana’s broader push through Colosseum to foster new projects and startups. It also coincides with other Solana hackathons—ranging from mobile to AI agents—making early 2026 a busy period for the ecosystem and presenting a contrarian bet on reviving previously hyped spaces. As momentum builds, discussions are taking place on Discord and Colosseum’s arena platform, with winners expected to be announced around March 5. The overarching premise is that graveyard categories may still hold potential, waiting for the right cycle and execution on Solana.
