The Insurance Education Institute became the first domestic educational institution in Korea to pilot tuition payments using USDC and USDT. The program launched for the second Crypto Literacy course, with applications limited to 20 spots on a first-come basis, and closed after three days.

The pilot demonstrated the viability of using stablecoins for everyday payments, and the institute plans to continue this approach for subsequent Crypto Literacy courses. The next cycle will operate the stablecoin payments for two days starting from registration, maintaining the same 20-spot limit.

To support broader adoption, the institute will accelerate payment infrastructure expansion and seeks to collaborate with major domestic exchanges. If domestic stablecoin legislation progresses, the institute intends to convert USDT/USDC payments into won-stablecoin payments. Chairman Ha Tae-kyung stated that the early close shows Korean citizens already possess the capability to pay with digital assets in daily life.
