On March 5, QFEX announced a seed funding round totaling $9.5 million. The round was led by General Catalyst partner Yuri Sagalov and included participation from Paul Graham, Y Combinator, NexusVP, Moonfire VC, Goodwater Capital, Liquid2V, 468 Capital, and RitualVC.
QFEX describes itself as the first high-leverage exchange led by traditional finance professionals, offering around-the-clock trading on traditional assets (RWA) with up to 50x leverage for US stocks, commodities, and foreign exchange trading. Its team comprises veterans from Citadel, Jump Trading, Optiver, Jane Street, Tower Research Capital, and Flow Traders. This positions the platform to serve investors seeking leveraged exposure beyond crypto.
