Coinbase has introduced perpetual stock contracts for investors outside the United States as it moves to target global investment markets, Cointelegraph reported on March 20 local time. The service is offered only to non-U.S. traders, with plans to expand to U.S. investors later. The contracts can be traded on Coinbase Advanced for retail investors and on Coinbase International Exchange for institutional investors.
They support leverage and cash settlement for major U.S. stocks and indexes such as Apple and Nvidia. The service has already been launched in 26 countries, including Europe, and Coinbase is operating under MiFID regulation, Cointelegraph said.
The move broadens Coinbase’s trading ecosystem, allowing users to trade cryptocurrencies, stocks and prediction markets on a single platform around the clock. It expands access to major equities through regulated venues while aligning with Coinbase’s global expansion strategy. This initiative underscores Coinbase’s push to connect traditional equity markets with crypto by extending perpetual stock contracts to international clients outside the United States, subject to MiFID compliance.
