Wyoming Secretary of State approved the registration of the GARTEL X TESLA ART CAR #1 Lost Tesla Art Car NFT as a digital asset under the state’s Registered Digital Assets framework. The asset carries ID DA-000000952 and will be publicly accessible and auditable through the state’s official system. This marks a milestone in Wyoming’s effort to formalize blockchain-based assets as legitimate property within a regulated framework.

The NFT is issued on Ethereum using the ERC-1155 standard and is a true 1-of-1 token, making it globally unique. The Lost Tesla Art Car project is a collaboration among PunkVism, Dogecoin, and JC Philanthropies, aiming to issue 1,000 NFTs. The design is by Gartel, the artist known for introducing digital art to Andy Warhol, and the concept builds on the Tesla commissioned art car project. This is a poignant example of real-world cultural assets being converted into legally recognized digital assets.

Industry experts describe the development as a landmark in converting tangible cultural value into structured digital assets and protecting it under law. They say the Wyoming framework expands the legal interpretation of digital assets as property and could broaden future use, including museum displays and partnerships. The case exemplifies a broader shift toward regulated, asset-backed digital tokens and points to rapid growth of RWA-enabled NFTs.
