Seoul National University Hospital said it received 100,000 XRP from donor Kim Geoseok, valued at roughly KRW 210 million as of yesterday afternoon. This donation follows Kim’s earlier gift of 1 Bitcoin in November last year and marks the hospital’s second cryptocurrency donation. Kim Geoseok has previously donated cash and Bitcoin, bringing Seoul National University Hospital’s cumulative donations to about KRW 1.27 billion, including the XRP gift.

Kim Geoseok said he hopes diverse forms of giving beyond traditional approaches can bring positive changes to society and that the gifts will help Seoul National University Hospital’s development and improve the treatment environment for child patients. Seoul National University Hospital will monetize the donation per guidelines and allocate it to the Hospital Development Fund and the Children’s Hospital Development Fund, reflecting the donor’s intent.

Kim Young-tae, the hospital president, described the donation as a meaningful example of social contribution via digital assets. He pledged continued adaptability to evolving circumstances to ensure the donor’s wishes are meaningfully realized.
