Doginal Dogs is a 10,000-piece inscription collection on the Dogecoin blockchain. Since launching as a free mint on January 11, 2024, it has seen a floor price rise of more than 40,000%. The project uses inscription technology to embed artwork directly into Dogecoin blockchain data, ensuring permanent on-chain storage and preventing alterations or removals.
The genesis artwork originated from Barker’s pixel art of his Doberman Atlas, and community interest led to the full 10,000-piece collection on Dogecoin. The mint launched with no presale, venture funding, or paid promotions, and the founding team covered all transaction fees while early participants received two inscriptions at no cost. Barker said, “I watched the NFT space collapse and I couldn’t just sit there,” and added, “I cared too much about what NFTs could be to let them die like that.”
Since launch, Doginal Dogs has hosted more than 20 multi-day community events in New York, Las Vegas, Miami, and Toronto, with complimentary merchandise and hospitality for attendees. The merchandise has appeared on Netflix programming, Barker has hosted a daily live broadcast for over 1,000 consecutive days through the Crypto Spaces Network on X, the project has been presented at major blockchain conferences such as Consensus and Token2049, and Barker has received the Philanthropy in Web3 Award. Built on the Dogecoin blockchain, the project benefits from lower transaction costs relative to Ethereum and Bitcoin, an advantage enabled by an inscription approach adapted from Bitcoin Ordinals that stores data permanently on each Dogecoin unit.
