The founder of Virtual Assets LLC, the operator of Crypto Dispensers in Chicago, has been indicted by a federal grand jury on charges of conspiracy to launder up to $10 million in proceeds from wire fraud and drug trafficking.
Authorities allege the defendants laundered funds by converting them into cryptocurrency via crypto ATMs and transferring them to virtual wallets to conceal their sources.
Both defendants pleaded not guilty, and a state court trial is scheduled for January 30, 2026.
