GANA Payment on the BNB Chain has been hacked, with attackers stealing over $3.1 million. On-chain detective ZachXBT reported that the thieves consolidated the stolen funds in a wallet on the Binance-linked network and swapped part of the assets for BNB. They moved 1,140 BNB, about $1.04 million, to the Tornado Cash mixer, and converted the remaining funds into 346.8 ETH (roughly $1.05 million) left on an Ethereum address.
The GANA team acknowledged the incident and said developers have begun an investigation in collaboration with an external blockchain security firm. An urgent announcement from GANA noted that the interaction contract was targeted by an external attack, resulting in unauthorized asset theft. The project’s technical team, alongside a third-party security company, has launched an emergency review to analyze the attack vector and outline recovery steps, including asset verification and a public schedule.
GANA is a BEP-20 token on the BNB Chain, and the price slipped more than 90%, trading around $0.20 with a market cap near $2.5 million. Since the start of November, attacks on BNB Chain projects have surged, totaling about $129 million in 20 days, compared with $16.6 million the previous month, including the Balancer hack at roughly $128 million.
