Bitcoin finished the year hovering around KRW 128.6 million, down 0.36% from 24 hours earlier, after briefly bouncing to around KRW 129 million early this morning. In USD terms, the price remained stuck near $88,000, failing to break above $90,000.
Major altcoins were mixed, with Ethereum down 0.71% and Solana down 0.22%, while Ripple rose about 0.15%. The Bitcoin Kimchi premium stood at roughly 0.78%, indicating domestic prices trading above overseas levels.
The market’s fear-and-greed index stood at 23, signaling extreme fear. The year began with a strong start, peaked in autumn, and cooled toward year-end. Bitcoin moved near the $100,000 level as global markets stabilized and institutional money returned to the United States. Domestically, Bitcoin started around KRW 140 million, rose gradually to a high in October, but later slipped to around KRW 127–129 million by December, roughly 30% below the high.
