WisdomTree, a leading asset manager, is expanding its tokenized fund services onto the Solana blockchain to capture the DeFi real-world assets (RWA) market. Retail and institutional investors will now be able to access digitalized real-world asset funds through WisdomTree Prime and WisdomTree Connect, as part of a broader multi-chain strategy to maximize liquidity and usability across networks.

The expansion underscores WisdomTree’s push to broaden regulated digital-asset access by leveraging Solana’s fast processing and low-cost infrastructure. The asset manager, which manages approximately $99.5 billion in assets, highlighted Solana as a preferred platform due to its efficiency and scalability, positioning it as a competitive alternative to Ethereum.

Meredith Hannon, WisdomTree’s head of digital assets, said expanding the entire tokenized fund onto Solana strengthens the focus on regulated real-world assets within the on-chain ecosystem. Nick Ducoff, WisdomTree’s head of strategy for digital assets, added that Solana enables large-scale RWA provision and serves as core infrastructure for the forthcoming tokenized asset demand.

Real-world assets—the tokenization of property, bonds, and gold on a blockchain—are seen as a bridge between traditional finance and DeFi. The Solana ecosystem already features RWA-linked products such as Moonbirds’ BIRB token and Theo’s revenue-generating gold token, illustrating growing traction at the intersection of real assets and digital finance.

The move signals that the next phase for digital asset markets will revolve around regulated, asset-backed tokenization. This development could broaden investor access and participation across both traditional finance and DeFi.
