CoinDesk’s annual Consensus Hong Kong conference will kick off this Wednesday with a speech from Hong Kong Chief Executive John KC Lee. The conference will feature regulators and politicians from around the world, examining how financial services serve as a bridge between the global East and West amid shifting crypto policy.

On day one, Financial Secretary Paul Chan and Securities and Futures Commission Chief Executive Julia Leung are set to participate in panels addressing the growth of real-world asset tokenization, stablecoins, evolving payment systems, and ETFs. The discussions will explore how regulatory approaches are adapting to the expanding crypto ecosystem and its intersection with traditional finance.

In the United States, SEC Chair Paul Atkins is slated to testify before the House Financial Services and Senate Banking Committees as part of ongoing rulemaking for the crypto sector. The White House is convening yet another meeting between crypto and banking industry representatives to discuss stablecoin yield concerns. Tuesday’s schedule also indicates additional policy-focused events as Consensus Hong Kong continues.
