Conduit, a leading cross-border payments platform powered by stablecoins, announced a partnership with Onafriq at the Africa Fintech Summit. The collaboration unites Conduit’s global stablecoin network with Onafriq’s cross-border payment rails, broadening Conduit’s footprint across Africa. Onafriq is Africa’s largest digital payments network of networks, connecting a billion mobile money wallets and 500 million bank accounts across more than 40 countries.

By combining the networks, more merchants will have access to local payment methods, strengthening the infrastructure for digital and stablecoin-enabled payments across the continent. The partners aim to support real-time, interoperable trade across African currencies, with near-instant and programmable payments.

Onafriq will leverage Conduit’s infrastructure to onramp payments in USDC, manage its treasury in stablecoins, and settle same-day payments in multiple markets where traditional rails can take days, such as SWIFT. Since launching its cross-border stablecoin platform in 2023, Conduit has seen growing demand in Africa, with African customers transacting on its platform rising 80% between Q3 and Q4 2025. Conduit executives described the partnership as a meaningful step toward expanding a real-time, borderless payments vision for the continent.
