Zora has launched Attention Markets on the Solana blockchain on February 17, 2026, bypassing the Coinbase-developed Base network where the platform previously operated. The service lets users create markets on topics such as hashtags, memes, or viral stories, with a listing cost of 1 SOL, and others can place bets on whether the topic will gain or lose relevance. Zora had previously established itself as a flagship application on Base, launching its ZORA token in April 2025 and Creator Coins in July 2025, a period that saw Base briefly outpace Solana in daily token creation.

Solana’s rapid block times and low transaction costs underpin Attention Markets, with initial activity described as modest. CoinDesk data show the primary attentionmarkets token reaching about $70,000 in market cap and roughly $200,000 in trading volume, while most trend-based markets stayed under $10,000. The network’s on-chain metrics indicate 3,847 transactions per second last week, up 34% from January 2026, underscoring Solana’s improving throughput even amid price pressure.

Looking ahead, Solana will host a February 19 panel on Real World Assets (RWA) with OnRe Finance, Loopscale, and Exponent Finance outlining institutional RWA strategies involving reinsured, fixed-yield products. This continued expansion into institutional use cases could further alter the network’s narrative, steering it away from meme-driven coins toward structured financial instruments.
