Newity just pulled in $11 million in fresh funding, their first outside money since they started up in 2020. They’re using this cash to speed up work on their blockchain-based lending platform, which targets small businesses across the United States. The round kicked off late in 2024 and wrapped up by December 2025, with CMT Digital leading the round and a mix of private and institutional investors participating.

Newity says it has processed more than $12 billion in financing for over 125,000 small businesses, with the average loan size around $118,800. Borrowers can access loans up to $350,000 as the company moves toward a fully digital application flow that automates document management and provides dedicated support teams. Cody says the company’s AI-first underwriting platform analyses hundreds of data points, including credit checks, identity verification and tax summaries, delivering a prequalified loan estimate in under 10 minutes and funding in as little as 21 days.

Newity plans to bring its lending products onchain, with Cody saying the company is exploring several paths and will announce a final strategy soon. The company believes blockchain infrastructure can improve liquidity for credit assets, and onchain debt instruments could integrate with capital markets more efficiently. Co-CEO Luke LaHaie says AI and blockchain allow the team to operate at the scale modern markets require, and the firm aims to help close the nearly $350 billion annual funding gap for small businesses.

Newity is headquartered in Chicago and has around 115 employees. Most staff work from the office, with some remote roles, and the company is hiring across partnerships, marketing and technology teams. The capital will support ongoing development, refine lending models and advance its blockchain integration strategy to shorten timelines and open new lending channels for small businesses.
