Dunamu Forges Next-Gen Cybersecurity Talent With Upside Academy’s Fourth Cohort

Dunamu partners with Tiori to offer an 18-week Web3 security training with university credits and a new UP Space center in Seoul.

Dunamu, the operator of Upbit, announced on the 24th that it held the fourth launch ceremony of Upside Academy, a youth security talent training program, with cybersecurity company Tiori on the 23rd. Upside Academy is Korea’s first Web3 security talent training program introduced by Dunamu and Tiori. The program features an 18-week practical curriculum designed to be immediately applicable in the rapidly evolving ICT landscape, including artificial intelligence. Trainees will go through an actual project that combines intensive education to learn the latest security technologies for 18 weeks and cybersecurity, Web3, and blockchain technologies to perform tasks.

Dunamu opened an exclusive education center called UP Space in Yeoksam-dong, Seoul, in line with the launch of the fourth cohort. It offers a space that supports the growth of next-generation security talent, including benefits such as the latest MacBook, 1 million won in monthly activity and team project progress, exclusive lounges, safety insurance, and networking communities among graduates. Upside Academy uniquely links field training internships with eight major universities in Korea for the first time among boot camps in Korea. Trainees who pass the course can receive up to 12 credits from the university they are attending after completion, and additional on-site training fees are also paid.

Lee Woo-jin, selected in the fourth term after fierce competition, said, “I was desperate for passing the high-level practical test and a one-on-one tech interview. Above all, I expect more mentors than trainees, and I will be reborn as a cybersecurity talent through the best immersion for four months.” Jeong Jae-yong, Chief Information Protection Officer (CISO) of Dunamu, emphasized, “We will spare no support to help trainees grow further and become key talents who contribute to the ecosystem in the newly prepared Up Space.” Park Se-joon, CEO of Tiori, also encouraged the trainees, saying, “The competition is with myself, not others,” adding, “If you focus on getting better every day compared to yesterday, you will find yourself clearly different in four months.”
