Coinbase disclosed that Chief Legal Officer Paul Grewal said lawmakers are nearing agreement on the Clarity Act after addressing concerns over stablecoin yield, tokenized equities, and ethics. Efforts to resolve the remaining issues have continued in recent discussions.
Separately, Coinbase has obtained an Australian license to offer crypto and equity perpetual contracts and plans to add futures and options, broadening its derivatives offering for Australian traders. The license broadens Coinbase’s ability to serve Australian traders with additional hedging tools.
Together, these moves reflect ongoing regulatory alignment and Coinbase’s push to broaden hedging tools for clients. The shift signals a growing appetite for regulated crypto derivatives in Australia and beyond.
