Only 32% of new tokens increase in price after listing on major exchanges, and less than 10% survive beyond a year, according to CoinGecko. Among the leading platforms, Upbit in South Korea stands out, with about 67% of new tokens maintaining positive dynamics after 30 days. On platforms such as Binance and OKX, around 50% remained positive over the same 30-day window.
However, over time, within 30-60 days, only about 25% of tokens stay profitable. By year-end, fewer than 10% are still worth more than their listing price. Even Upbit, which started from higher positions, has tokens losing value the fastest.
Coinbase appears as an exception; some tokens listed there recover after several months, described by analysts as a “second wind” after about six months. Still, long-term success remains rare.
